They lived without our modern technologies, instead they cut ice from the pond in winter to keep home ice chests cold all year long. They shared phone lines with other familiescalled party lines. Teams of prodigious work horses did the work now done by tractors. Milkmen delivered thick walled bottles of fresh milk, and people gathered around the wood cook-stove to share stories and laughter.
